Based on your brewing preferences, here is our recommending methods for the best possible cup you can get.

Pour Over

Details:

This is our approach to single-cup pour overs, including Kalita Wave, V60, Origami, and Chemex.

what you need:

- Recreation Coffee 
- Burr grinder
- Gram scale
- Timer
- Filtered water
- Kettle
- Serving vessel
- Spoon

recipe:

- Water Temp: 203°F (95°C)
- Ratio: 1:16 (28g coffee - 450g water)
- Total time: 3-4 minutes
- Grind size: medium-fine

how to brew:

- Step 1: rinse the paper filter with hot water to eliminate any paper taste and to heat the brewing vessels. Afterwards, dump the water.
- Step 2: 0:00 Add 50g of water to allow freshly roasted coffee to bloom
- Step 3: 0:30 Slowly add 200g of water using circular motions
- Step 4: 1:00 Add 100g of water again with circular motions
- Step 5: 2:00 Add the remaining water and let it filter through the coffee with a complete brew time of around 3:30 to 4 minutes

Notes:

If you find the resulting coffee to be sour or salty, adjust the grind to be finer. If the coffee tastes astringent or overly bitter, make the grind coarser.

aeropress

what you need:

- Recreation Coffee 
- Burr Grinder
- Aeropress
- Gram Scale
- Timer
- Filtered Water
- Kettle
- Serving Vessel

recipe:

– Temp: 203°F (95°C)
– Ratio: 1:16 (16g coffee - 256g water)
- Total time: 2:10 - 2:25
- Grind size: medium-fine

how to brew:

– Step 1: Lock in cap with filter and rinse with hot water
– Step 2: 1st pour @ 0sec - 40g (40ml circle pour, then stir 3 times)
- Step 3: 2nd pour @ 0:30 - 216g (gentle center pour to 256gl, then stir 3 times)
- Step 4: Plunge and Press @ 1:45 (Finish at first hissing sound between 2:15 - 2:25)

Notes:

If you find the resulting coffee to be sour or salty, adjust the grind to be finer. If the coffee tastes astringent or overly bitter, make the grind coarser.

drip

Details:

This is our approach when using an automatic drip coffee machine. 

what you need:

- Recreation Coffee 
- Burr Grinder
- Coffee Machine (We recommend the Technivorm Mochamaster and Simply Good Coffee machines)
- Gram Scale
-Filtered Water

recipe:

- Ratio: 1:17 (60g coffee - 1020g water)
- Grind size: medium

how to brew:

- Step 1: Add water - Use the graduated markings on the water reservoir to add the proper amount of cold water for the number of cups of coffee you want to brew.
- Step 2: Grind Coffee - Measure out 10 grams of coffee beans for every cup and grind it to a medium grind.
- Step 3: Add filter and coffee - Place your filter within the brew basket ensuring the sides sit nicely against the walls, add your ground coffee and give it a shake to flatten out the coffee bed.
- Step 4: Brew - Turn the brewer on, or enable brew mode, and let the machine do the rest.

french press

Details:

This is our simple approach when using a french press.
